Do you want speech and language therapy services for your child? Do you wonder if your child is a late talker, has autism, or has any speech, language, and social/emotional delay? With or without diagnosis, we will provide the support your child and your family need. We provide therapy in variety of settings, including: the natural environment, private preschools, and at home so that your child can receive the therapy at his/her most comfortable environment and you can save your drive to and from the therapy locations.
Providing Floortime therapy
DIR Floortime is a relationship-based therapy for children with autism. This is the method to make a difference in fundamentals of autism, not just behaviors. We help the child build skills such as regulating his/her state, attend to others, engaging with others, connecting with others, and problem solve in variety of communicative opportunities. The goals are set based on the child's developmental level and build on their strengths. We engage children though the activities that they enjoy. And foster their inner drive to "want to be with someone," "want to play with someone, " and "want to tell something to someone." The therapist will provide the Floortime therapy 1 to 3 times a week for your child and provide coaching, consulting, and support for your family to implement the floortime at home at everyday basis.
The child needs to master several skills before learning to talk. The therapist will assess the child to see which skills are developing or not developing and help him/her build those skills in the systematic way. The therapy for late talkers is play-based and the parents will be given child-specific strategies to use at home to support the child’s speech and language development.
If you wonder whether your child has ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), my recommendation is to start Floortime ASAP and talk to your pediatrician and seek for screening/evaluation. Going though the diagnostic process could take months. During those waiting time, the child’s brain is growing rapidly. By starting the floortime therapy as soon as you felt “something is not going right,” you can make a big difference in your child’s ability to attend, engage, connect, and communicate. Contact us for free screening today.
Do you want to see where your child is in the speech/language/socio-emotional development, and want some tips on how you can support your child at home? We provide one hour consulting session.
